All my boys were born in Texas, two in Dallas and one in Tyler. I lived in Dallas, Tyler, Lubbock, Bedford and Grapevine during all those years. My Mom still lives in Farmers Branch. So Texas is near and dear to my heart, for sure.
A Longhorn? We can't be friends anymore, I'm a big time Sooner fan! My sister lives in Round Rock (a suburb of Austin) and is a huge UT fan, we are always teasing over which team is better.

    Hi,

I moved to Texas about 4 years ago. We're in Central Texas (Hill Country) closest to Austin. I never thought Texas would have hills, trees, and water and it really does! Very diverse state...

LMAO.... I really didn't care too much for any sports, other than the Dallas Cowboys of course, until I met my hubby. He is born and bred Sooner fan, he is seriously wearing an OU shirt on his first day of Kindergarden picture. Now, I'm alot more into sports, love the Mavericks too.

Jennifer- My sister is in Round Rock.... beautiful area..... I'm going there next week for Spring Break with the kids. She just discovered that there is a disability oriented theme park in San Antonio, that we are taking the her disabled daughter and kids too.
We like to go raft the rivers in Hill Country, did that last summer, so much fun (though I inevitably hit the biggest rock on my rear and can't sit for a week-LOL)

How cool is that about the disability park? Way cool. Sounds like a fun week in store for you and the girls. Yes, I know that whole area very well. Beautiful country. We used to take all 5 of the kids to the hill country in the summers, rent an authentic 1800's log cabin, and tube the Guadalupe River. Awesome memories.

I can sooo relate to the tubing accident! Ouch! We live across the street from lake LBJ so were out on the water alot. I've learned this past summer that I'm not 15 and getting towed behind a boat on a rubber tube going 40 mph isn't the greatest idea when you have a bad back!!!!

The Guadalupe River is beautiful. There's so much to do and I also love the fact that there is a park for disabled kids. Wonderful! We also have a cave nearby that is really cool to check out. I still haven't been out at night in Austin to see the bats fly out from under the bridge. What is even funnier is Chuck Woollery (Love Connection host) lives out here by us and my husband and I actually ran into him out in front of our Wal-Mart!!!! Gotta love Texas

Oh, the bats coming out at night are awesome. My sister lives just a few exits from the one in Round Rock that is supposed to have the most bats. I can't remember the street name; but it is really neat. The kids also love being there when they do the fireworks from Dell Diamond after games.

LOL- On tubing... my hubby thinks that the idea is to throw the tuber off violently. I'm like why did you throw me off?? He's like, I thought you wanted me to! LOL I don't ski, my idiot self holds on too long and almost drown, before I even get up on the skis. At least now I have an excuse not to ski. That is the only thing they told me not to do post op. We have 2 big lakes close to us, one is 10 minutes South, the other 20 minutes North. We used to spend every weekend on the lake boating, then we sold the boat (as the saying goes.....the happiest days of boat ownership are the day you buy it and the day you sell it)

I wonder if I can still do roller coasters.... I love going to Six Flags and we are only like 45-60 minutes away from the one in Arlington.
