    Default Ughh, disgusting......

OMG- My youngest, Ava 3, just (well an hour ago) got out of bed, stood at the top of the stairs, said "mommy" and then a here liquid hitting the floor. Oh yeah, she puked , all down the stairs, on the walls, all the way to the mid-point landing. It was so gross!

And guess who got to clean it up? Yup, that would be me, as hubby has a weak tummy and would have added to the mess. To top it off, we are re-doing our flooring, so it is just wood on the stairs (like rough wood, the base), since we just got done pulling the carpet up. So, then I've got to figure out how the heck to clean it. Not like I can steam clean it, like carpet. Can't mop it like tile. I ended up toweling it up, spraying antibacterial 409, washing it with a hot wet towel, then spraying Lysol all over.

All while simulatenously running her a bath, making sure she doesn't drown and getting her sanitized. I almost gagged her while brushing her teeth, would not have been good. Then, she of course has to sleep with me and hubby (read: smother me to death, lay on top of me) and she just kept burping, like she was going to vomit. I kept running her to the toilet, finally got her to rest and watch cartoons while daddy snores beside her and mommy sneaks off downstairs.

Cross your fingers that mommy doesn't get sick , seeing as how vomit is about as toxic as it gets and I get sick everytime I clean it up-even though I wash thoroughly afterwards. Hopefully, sister and daddy don't get it either, then I will be taking care of everyone!

Oh Kathy, the joys of having a family...this is much worse than hairballs, as much as I detest those too

I sure hope you don't get ill as well...I always did, back in the days.

Would wearing a mask while you cleaned up the mess help avoid you catching it? Or at least cut the smell? I know that snuggling with her will still probably pass on the germs, but every little bit helps

Is this why the other post was cut short?

Ok, I think, and I hope I am not jinxing myself , that the rest of the family has escaped the vomit bug. She woke up feeling good the next morning and no sign of sickness since then. This is one of those, 'one day I will laugh about this' moments! Kids, they're kinda like pets, pain in the butt; but you love em' and the good far outweighs the bad! I'm very blessed to have them.

Oh, so funny, Kathy! You're living it now, but reading your hilarious vomit story brought back some of the memories I have already lived and tucked away into that wonderful memory bank, of raising 3 sons! Just a couple of "cute" ones: one night at the dinner table my oldest son, now 31, was probably 4 at the time and saying grace for everyone before chowing down. At the end of his prayer, he said "in GI Joe" I pray, amen! GI Joe was all the craze back then....he looked up embarrassed, put his head back down and said, "I mean in Jesus name I pray, amen!" We all cracked up! One of my favorites with my second son, Micah, happened when he and I were out at Target when he was about 4 or 5. It was December and he kept bugging me for a new toy, when I said, "Micah, no, Christmas is right around the corner." He walked to the end of the aisle, looked both ways and said, "around which corner, Mommy?"

CL- I am cracking up! Remember the old Bill Cosby Show, I think it was called 'kid's say the darndest things'. They are so funny.

We were in Target one day when my daughter saw an older woman and she blurts out, "mom, look at that old lady". The lady heard her, I was mortified and at a loss for words. From then on, I told her we call older people 'little ladies or little men'.
