    Default Up since 2 a.m. ......

Here I go again. This move is killing my sleep patterns. Pretty soon I'll be like this again: One more night in the house , so hopefully, things will improve, as I won't have so much on my mind. At least until we move into the new place, on April 12th. I honestly wish I didn't have to be here when they load up all our stuff, as I get so stressed out when that takes place.

Yesterday was the final walk through of the buyers in our place with their agent. Man, that agent was getting on my nerves. So nit-picky. A light had burned out in the cellar when the packers were packing it up last week. I didn't even know. She brought it up, of course, that they are owed a light bulb. Naturally, all my light bulbs got packed up. Now, I have to make a special trip to the store for a fricking light bulb?! Gimme a break. When hubby got home and I told him, he just reached for one of our other lamps, unscrewed the bulb and marched downstairs to screw it in. Why didn't I think of that? Doh! Sometimes the simplest solutions escape me when I am so stressed out.

Next, the water pressure on the powder bath hot water went down, of course after they got there! I had just had a plumber out yesterday to make sure all faucets were running well. We have extremely hard water in this community and he did unplug some gunk from the master bathtub faucet, which was good. I had him look at the powder bath too, but as he tried to unscrew the "whatever it's called," it wouldn't budge. He said it's more build up from the hard water. It's a very expensive faucet and older and we were both afraid he might break it by trying so hard with the wrench, so we left it alone. Natch, they weren't happy with it, so now I have to call and have the plumber come back out today, and see if he can get it off and put the new washer on. Then the agent wanted me to give the new owners our phone number at our new address unless anything comes up. At what point is the house theirs and theirs to take care of, for crying out loud?! I am absolutely NOT passing out my number to these folks. You own it, figure it out. Sure hope I'm not going to hell for feeling that way.

I agree entirely. When we moved into our house the previous owner came back a couple of weeks later to dig some shrubs to take with her to her new house!!! What on earth!

Your tale just reminds me why I never, never want to move again. However I will have to at some point as we need some of the equity from the house for retirement. Deep breath time Cindy, you are nearly there. Hugs x

Alison, dig up your shrubs? That is crazy! Some folks are just a little loony. Got up at 2:30 a.m. this morning. Today is D-DAY. Feeling kinda puny and have run to the bathroom 5 times with a rip-roaring case of Montezuma's revenge. Not a good day to feel green. Nerves, to be sure. Moving does bite the big one. Can't wait till tomorrow......

She was definitely on the loopy side, moving seems to bring out a very weird side in people. Praying it all goes well for you. Looking forward to seeing pics of your new place. Focus on the end goal!

    Cindylou,

Most people take possession with exchange of keys at the closing attorney's or who ever handles the closing. Over my lifetime working a duel career being a licensed home builder and a licensed PA i have found that about 40% of the population don't think they have gotten a 'good deal' in a purchase unless they can make the other party hurt a little bit with the purchase. It sounds like you might have found one. When I sell a house, I have to stand behind everything for one year, structural problems for 7 years. Back when my Daddy built, and even when I started part time 26 years ago building homes was much simpler. I better stop as I feel a rant coming on.
Low back pain became somewhat dehabilitating in 2005
Have had 11 steroid injections, IDET, Trial for nerve stimulator, PT, chiropractic trial, practically every med known to mankind. Discogram indicated three diseased levels with L5-S1 being the most likely pain generator. Post minimally invasive PLIF with internal fixation (titanium) on 12-28-09 of L5-S1. Doing better than expected. Last opioid 7/9/10. Five months pain free, then my neck turned against me. MRI on 12/1/10-- disease at C2 to C7. Only surgical alternative is to fuse entire C-spine. Diagnosed now with Aggressive Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis with cord & brainstem active lesions
