    Default Whoo-hoo!

Got my new Iphone yesterday!! I had gone to the Apple Store just to see what the status was of my delivery. I told the sales fella I had been without a phone for over 2 weeks and even showed him my phone that I fished out of the lake. (it still had all the grit and sand on it) He said he'd be right back. He came back and then asked for my email address. Looked it up and said he'd be right back again. I had no idea what was going on. Anyway, several minutes later he appeared with a brand new phone box in his hand! He said I was still pretty far down on the list for more wait time, but when he showed my battered phone and told the lake story disaster to their senior store manager, they decided to have mercy on me and gave me a new phone then and there. Yippee!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Glad you got your new phone......2 weeks without one must have been tough? I know it would have for me but I basically live off of my phone and accomplish most of my work through it as well. I go through minimum of a couple thousand minutes and 7-800 text messages a month.

Thats why I was heart broken when I lost my phone on Sunday (yesterday) and drove to the gas station I last remembered using it to find it in pieces in the parking lot But customer service at work is pretty good and by 9:30 this morning they had one programmed, set up and packed in a box ready to be overnighted to me. So I dont have much room to whine about 2 days without my phone when you went through 2 weeks....and yours was an iPhone, much cooler than my blackberry. Although they are sending me a tour, not the curve I had so I'm not too thrilled about that. But oh well, I'm getting my phone back so that parts good!

At least I'm not the only adult that find usefulness by using a text message to resolve simple questions without having to have long drawn out conversations. Text messages dont work for everything but there are so many times where all I need is to make one statement or ask a simple question and save a bunch of time and energy by just sending a text versus a phone call.

But to stay on topic, I have played with an iPhone 4 and I am still very jealous and envyous but I have come to grips with reality that I do not need an iPhone (since I already have a phone) so therefore I am not going to get one.....no matter how much I think I need one, it is a "want" not a "need" right now. But you can bet your lucky rabbits feet that once work decides to no longer give me a phone and I have to go get one I'm pretty sure I know where I'll go

Yeah, there's no reason to buy an Iphone4 when your company is picking up the tab on a Blackberry. If you are a "new gadget guy" tho, I can see how that would be tough.

Ok, you may already know this, but I just discovered it and think it's awesome. If you have the Facebook app, go on it, click on the little 9 square thing on the top left that takes you to the menu, click on 'friends', then click on 'sync' in the upper right hand corner, move the tab on the bottom of this page to on (do this one first), then move the tab on the top of the page to on. This will ask you if you agree, click yes, it will then import all of the Facebook profile pictures to your address book on your phone (it automatically matches them and did mine perfectly- with the exception of me, as my name on my profile is Kathy and my sister in law is Kathy, with the same last name, so my picture showed up on her phone number) It even matched names that were not stored exactly the same in my phone (like didn't have the maiden name, or my mom's said mom and her last name). I thought it was pretty cool.
