    Icon11 Cervical Surgery No Relief

    Hello All,
I had two cervical pro discs installed on June 24, 2010 and have been in severe pain since. The surgery made the pain worse.
I have had all of the injections and therapy humanly possible. Is there anyone who knows of a test that can detect nerve pain.
There must be something that can pinpoint the source of my pain.
I live in New York and have medicare insurance.

    Hi Ricky,

Welcome to the Spine Patient Society.

I'm sorry for the circumstances that bring you here, but we are here to help. Where is your pain located (be as specific and detailed as possible) and what does it feel like? What cervical levels were replaced? If you could spell out your pre-operative course and your symptoms leading up to surgery, it would better paint the picture of what was going on prior to surgery (how long, any traumatic injury, other health problems, etc.). Was your post-op course complicated in any way? How off-center are your ProDiscs and are both discs affected?

    Ricky:
Hi Justin here are the details. I had an accident and fell and landed on my head. Prior to the accident in 2008 I had a perfectly healthy neck.
I was told tonight by a Dr. Huang at HSS that if my neck hurts this long after my surgery that I will have to live with it for the rest of my life.
My surgery was at c6 c7 and a synthese pro discs were used. The surgery was smooth the Doctor said and I did all of the rehab that I was told
to do. I had the xrays reviewed and a Doctor in LA said the surgery might not have been that good. When my surgeon heard what the LA doctor said
he flew to Los Angeles and spoke to him. Now he Dr. Delamarter will not talk to me and neither will my surgeon John Bendo. Bendo went out of
his way to stop my second opinions because at many offices they flat out refuse to meet me. So that is my story what do you think?

    HI Rickey

It amazes me to here how surgeons like to protect them self.

Have you seen Dr Bitian? He seems to be able to help out lots of spine patients?

How were your facet joints prior to surgery?

We are here to help and learn

    Hi Gil,
Thank you for your concern. The Doctors in New York are brutal people and their main concern is money.
There are so many people in their offices that they simply never take the time to address your issues.
My former surgeon told me he does over 250 surgeries a year. How can you get a quality surgery when the Doctor
may be performing six surgeries in a single day? God will help me..
