    Default Disc replacement surgery location

    Hi, my name is Lynn and I am in the process of scheduling disc replacement surgery by Dr. Karsten Ritter-Lang. I have a choice to have it done in Stenum in Germany or Barcelona, Spain. Does anyone have any suggestions, advice, or experience? I do not know anything about either hospital.

    Dr Ritter-Lang performed surgery on me at Stenum near Bremen. The facilites and staff were tremendous. I have no input on the facilities he uses in Spain, but I can't imagine it would be inferior.

    I do think it would be warmer in Spain this time of year though.

    which hospital in Barcelona? I had my ADR done there by Dr Clavel - found it great to have such motivation to get up and around. there are a lot of hospitals there... Dr Clavel operates at Quiron, which was more like a hotel than a hospital...
    non-surgeon MD in the US - but laid up no longer!!!
    Initial injury - 2006 fall from horse - initial dx SIJD w/ nl MRI
    L5/S1 discogenic pain from posterior annular tear
    Biacuplasty successful but disc re-injured in MVA
    M6-L implanted Oct 19th, 2011 by Dr Clavel in Barcelona
