    dyates,

Sorry to hear what you are going through. I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but I don't believe that you can get a multi level ADR approval to be done here in the US. The FDA has only approved ADR's at 1 level presently that I know of. I don't think any doctors can go against that, unless they are approved to do a clinical study.

I'm no expert on this matter, so don't take my say so as gold.

Auto accident 6/11/2010 caused neck and shoulder owwwwies!
Cervical - extrusion at C6-C7 and protrusion at C3-C4. Cord stenosis at C6-C7, and foraminal narrowing at C6-C7 and C3-C4. EMG = no nerve damage.
Shoulder - partial tear in supraspinatus tendon, Tendinopathy and lot's of inflammation. Some atrophy of deltoid muscle.
Chiro and PT helps. Cortisone injection in shoulder helping. Epidural Steroid Injections at C6-C7 coming soon.

I believe they can with a 'compassionate use' exception, or something to that effect.

I don't know what term allows the procedure, but I have been assured by Dr. Zigler that if I can pay, I can play (my own words). You can call almost any surgeon in the DFW metroplex within the PPO of BCBSTX, and they do an artificial disc replacement of some kind. If they do, 98% are happy to do multi-level.

Right or wrong, it's being done in this area. I don't know the proper term to get it, but I think it starts with a cha! and ends with a Ching!
4 herniated discs in my neck as of 2 weeks ago, verified with a discogram. The insurance (BCBS TX) company declined multilevel ADR but approved 1 level. Tried everything else except fusion or ADR -I will travel the world to participate in a multilevel ADR study, I cannot afford the $24000 per disc private label price. I have lost 2 businesses, 2 jobs, and feel I have been sentenced to a slow, painful death by the government and insurance companies in the most resourceful country in the world....
