Hello Everyone!
I just had cervical ADR C5-6 and C6-7 by Mr. Nick Boeree, Spinal Surgeon, on 8/31. Please see my signature for my hx. I had a wonderful experience with Mr. Boeree in England. My surgery was at Nuffield Wessex Hosp, and I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Herbertson, my anaesthetist, and the nurses at Nuffield. Everyone was very attentive to my needs and partnered in my care. My surgery went well, and I am now 2 wks out. I just started PT here at home today. I would like to share my experience with those who are still in the process of deciding whether to have this surgery, and who best to perform it. I did extensive research, had multiple opinions, and could not be happier with my decision to have my surgery with Mr. Boeree. My post-op condition now: I have great neck ROM, mild numbness remaining in my little fingers of bil hands, and some mild pain between my shoulder blades, all expected to improve with PT. I will post updates on my post-op course.
Love hiking, biking, anything outdoors. 2005 dx with cervical DDD and radiculopathy, given PT, NSAIDs. Back to regular lifestyle with very few problems until March 2011, hyper extension of neck created the "straw that broke camel's back". C5-6 and C6-7 herniation with compression of the spinal cord. Pain between shoulder blades and mild numbness down L>R arm. No conservative options-only surgery per NS x 3. Surgery: 2 level ADR surgery with Dr. Nick Boeree in England Aug 31, 2011.
