Hey everyone, just wanted to update you all. I went in on Wednesday morning for single ADR (actually at C6/7 apparently, I thought it was C5/6 but maybe I don't know which vertebrae to count from )!

The operation was performed by Mr Niall Craig at BMI Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen. Mr Craig is a very nice bloke, he answered all my myriad questions with no fuss or fanfare and made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. He implanted me with the Discocerv Cerv-disc Evolution as illustrated here -->

Two days post op and I can already feel the difference in muscles that had been giving me lots of trouble prior to surgery and I think I have improved rotational range in my neck as well. There is a little swelling and slight pain at the entry site on my neck and I do have some aching in upper neck muscles but otherwise I am super happy and pain management is working fine.

I won't be surfing again for up to 6 months but I think I can handle that as I know I will be able to surf again

Here are a couple of post op x-rays, they look good to me!

Admins, if this should be re-posted to the post-op outcomes please feel free to do so or let me know and I will copy and paste across.

Thanks to everyone who extended their support to me, I guess I am one of the softer cases that comes through these pages, I want to say good luck to everyone here on your own paths dealing with what I have maybe got off lightly with. I just hope it will be a good while before any revision is required. Now I must ring my bell so my lovely nurse/wife can bring me more meds

Herniated disc at C5/6, approx 4mm. No DDD or complications, hopefully will schedule surgery in two weeks!

That's great that everything went so smoothly and that you are feeling good. Remember to take it easy, slow and easy wins the race.
