Well, I just happened to stumble over this site and seemed helpful, so I registered.

It all started 10 years ago , lifting an exhaust with silencer covered in cement. Why did he lift that I hear u asking ? Well I was in telecommunications and I was installing a satellite dish. It needed a 90 cm dia tube to take the dish load.

That`s when I got my hernia , L4-L5. L4-L3 was protruding and so was L3-L2. All this done in 1 go. Was really in pain, still managed to continue to my car holding the steel tube. Driving home was bad.

I was 35 years old. Only went to AE 4 weeks later when power to my left leg gave way. I walked about a mile. Doctor told me to reast solid for 3 days, taking some pain killers. Said I`d be ok after. No X-rays or MRI`s were done.

It was damn clear to me that I was on my own. I took a muscle relaxant for afew weeks , together with asprin. Left the relaxant and continued with the asprin. In bed on an off for 4 to 5 months. Got up to eat and start the car. Around a year I started walking OK. After the year I tried my hand at trying to jogg as I was relatively pain free. No problems. Before I Knew it I was running uphill, down hill for miles. I always had a muscle stimulater which I set to massage after the run.

Everything was Ok for 3 years. Went to revise the car , the mechanic said brake slowly. Could feel my right leg shaking because I could not brake any harder. The worse seen scenario happened. Ping !!!!!!!!!!

Damn , I Knew I`d done it.

My life would never be the same. I was 38. Injuries just kept re- happening , time after time. Injuries never had the time to heal.

So now a week till my 44th , all my lumbar discs r shot .

I have heard about stem cell therapy. Lets put this into perspective. Lets say 1 disc is fixed, rehidrated and so for. What about the other discs. Will this fixed disc create pressure on the other non fixed discs. I am asking because I have lost the muscle tone I had , so the tendons r not in a position to hold the spinal column in place.

Can this procedure be done on more than 1 disc at a time.

I live in Spain at the moment and have heard of a clinic in Barcelona. I think a fellow member called Luis went there last year. she said things went well until she started to feel pain in her left leg.

Well, sorry to be long winded but I have tried to tell u my story.
