    Default I am new here

I live in Boulder, Colorado. I was diagnosed with severe DDD at L4-L5 and L5-S1 in 2005. The treatments for me in the past were DRX9000 (decompression machine) and Yoga practise. My problem is I can't stand or walk for long period time. I am planning to have spine surgery in the fall of 2012 before I retire. The procedure of the surgery hasn't decided yet. I open to any suggestions. I am looking forward to get help from this forum.

Welcome also to SPS, xiaoyu. I'm sorry your back has been bothering you for so long. Dealing with chronic pain is no picnic, that's for sure. What other conservative measures have you attempted? Any injections? A discogram? Any physical therapy? Some of these answers will hopefully help us help you better. Glad you found us, Cindylou

My pain is manageable. I can avoid pain if I am careful for standing or walking. I like to travel, especially after I retire (the end of 2012). The lumbar surgery is by my choice to improve the quality of life. The decompression and Yoga are only treatment I had, since 2005 and I am doing everyday. I posted thread "Who should I trust?" Who should I trust? yesterday. I hope you can give me some advice. Thanks,
