Good afternoon fellow spine people. I am looking to see if there is anyone who might be in the same situation as myself. I had scoliosis surgery when I was 14, some 32 years ago, with a Harrington Rod implant. In my early 20's, a follow up study was being done in the hospital in Toronto where I had the surgery. I had just started having pain and difficulties at that point and they told me that the only surgery to fix it was a 360 fusion. Well at 22 years of age, my response was NO WAY. That started my passion for physical fitness. Keeping fit and trim got me through to my late 30's. Since then I have had 3 nerve decompression surgeries, a 360 fusion, which I finally had out of severe, debilitating pain, in 2009, a hardware failure and screw removal, and a cervical C5-7 in 2011. I have just undergone my 2nd RFTC procedure for suspected SI joint pain and I'm not entirely sure it has been successful. I am tired. I am in some measure of discomfort most of the time, especially sitting. I wonder if perhaps all the surgeries (7 total), all the hardware (I still have the rod), and scar tissue etc. is just causing all of this pain and discomfort. Oh and somewhere in there I managed to carry and give birth to twins!!! Whooo hooo! Anyway, just thought I'd vent. Has anyone else had an RFTC with no success?
Bless you all for being there and for listening to my story.
