    Hi,
I am due to have a sacroiliac joint fusion next Tuesday and am now beginning to feel increasingly nervous. I live in the UK and I am told that although my consultant has performed this operation before, SI joint fusions are not generally performed very often in the UK. I am also worried about coping after the operation.
Does anyone have any hints or tips?

    Hello Kel1976,

Welcome to the Spine Patient Society.

The good news is that being nervous is completely normal before any invasive procedure--if you weren't nervous, you wouldn't be human.

Anyway, there are several Spine Patient Society Members that have had sacroiliac joint fusion in the last year. Here's some recent threads in the Surgical Outcomes Forum -- Sacroiliac Joint Fusion / Dysfunction.

Once again, welcome and please let us know how we can help support you!
