Default New to the group (DDD L5-S1)

Hello everyone. My name is Francisco. I am Spanish.
I found this site when I searched for information on the M6-L. I have problems with my L5-S1 disk. Now, I'm evaluating the possibility of having this surgery (M6-L) in Barcelona.

    Any information will be helpful.
You must apologize for my bad English.

    Hi Francisco,

Welcome to the Spine Patient Society.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having problems with L5/S1. Your English is great! What kind of conservative care have you tried (injections, physical therapy, medications, etc.)?

We are amassing quite a group of Spinal Kinetics M6 Lumbar Spine Patients here at SPS. Here's a link to some of the Spine Patients here at SPS that have had artificial disc replacement: Lumbar Artificial Disc Replacement Outcomes -- Spine Patient Society.

Also, you can search the SPS Forum. I would try using search terms like "spinal kinetics M6" or even "Boeree" (the last name of a surgeon in the UK that has implanted the M6 in a good number of SPS Spine Patients).

Welcome aboard and please let us know if you have any questions. Spine problems can truly be overwhelming--just know that we are here to support you and that you are not alone in this fight to feel better.

    Hello Francisco,

I've been thinking about going to Barcelona myself for lumbar ADR. I haven't followed up on it and the only people I've noticed on this Spine Patient Society site have gone to Dr. Clavel in Barcelona for cervical spine problems. He seems to be considered excellent for that but I've read nothing about lumbar surgery being done there. He may do it and no one here has mentioned it here. Most have requested the M6 Artificial Disc Replacement.
    Diagnosis:
    Degenerative disc disease throughout spine
Generalized disc bulging with mild narrowing of thecal sac in L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1.
    Moderate spinal stenosis L4-L5
    Foraminal narrowing
    Recent compression Fx at T10,T11.
    Treatment:
    Spinal decompression 2007
Cortisone injection in lower back in 2010
    Relieved of pain for now
    Hope for ADR
