DDD,stenosis, spondylosis of l4-5/l5-s1. Tried 3 injections,ptx2. No relief from constant pain lower back, right leg. Currently on percocet 3 x a day. Disability since January 2011. Anyone have so much trouble from Anthem? Denied twice, not medically necessary! Go figure! 3 Surgeons agreed it is needed...frustrated!

    Hello ferndog,

Welcome to the Spine Patient Society!

Unfortunately, more and more Spine Patients are having their scheduled spinal fusion operations denied by insurance companies, especially BlueCross BlueShield.

This thread (Spine Patient Society Plays a Pivotal Role in Recent Uproar Regarding the New North Carolina BC/BS Policy on Spinal Fusion Coverage) is an interesting read that covers the recent developments about spinal fusion denial by insurance companies.
