Default New member, looking for advice on a broken L5

    Hello!
I am new member and I am looking for any advice on a broken L5 vertebrae. I fell in April of 2010, but only recently went to the doctor when my pain became worse. I had a CT scan than shows both of the pars (?) are broken on my L5 and that I have forward slippage of 10-15 degrees. The doctor says the sooner the better for surgery as this is not something that will heal on its own and will only get worse over time. Any advice?

Welcome ebdtchrs, sorry for the bad news on your L5. You know, I think it would behoove you to get several more surgical opinions for comparison sake, before you just jump into surgery. Although it does sound like surgery is in your near future. I wish you the best as you pursue your next course of action. Cindylou
