I'm posting my history as we speak. I feel lucky- it isn't too long yet! Definitely debilitating enough to require surgery though.

Just went to consultation with the Bonati Institute in Tampa, Florida today, where I live. My brother got a procedure done there, same thing I am looking at L4-L5 region, and he loved it. The doctors were really nice to him and he is an active guy, getting out same day was important to him.

Anyway, as for my trip. It was such a welcome change from the "assembly line" of other medical centers. I went for a consultation with Laser Spine Institute also in Tampa, and they were so quick and terse with me. Not going back there- afterwords, I read a nasty article on Bloomberg about them, so I'm glad I left! My surgery is Monday, and I am ready for this pain to be gone. Dr.Bonati was really informative; the guy has done so many procedures! My brother had fusion done and has a huge six inch scar on his back... from Bonati's surgery he has a little half inch one, and is actually better now. I'll post my results when it is over!

Never thought I would be excited for a medical procedure!

It's funny that you wrote that: "I never thought I would be so excited about surgery" - it made me smile. You are in for a long ride, my friend. And we are here for you.

If I hadn't come across this site, I would have been lost and felt so alone. You will see that we are all patients (at one point or another) and your excitement stems from hoping to get better (I think).

I join the others in wishing you the best of luck. Let us know how it goes.

I don't know much about The Bonati Institute, RetroVirus, but I wish you the very best with your approaching surgery. What type of surgery are you having? Did you mention this elsewhere, perhaps, and I missed it? Good luck! We will be here for you as well, when you land on the other side of surgery too. Regards, Cindylou

I just wanted to drop in and say that I am completely cured, I think. I know this kind of pain can come back randomly. But it has been awhile now and I am feeling 200%. I posted a review of sorts in surgical outcomes if anybody wants to look

I want to look! Where is the URL? When did you have your surgery?

RetroVirus, I am SO happy for you to say that you are completely cured (you think! LOL!) This is an amazing outcome to a surgery, IMO! Congratulations!

Now you can change the title of your post!

    A hug,

    ~Nancy

Thank you for the congratulations Nancy! It means a lot to know someone is wishing you well.
It has been a while now since the surgery, and I feel ten years younger. I even got to play basketball with my younger cousin, who plays high school ball. I almost can dunk too! (6'5) My back is no longer holding me back. (haha)

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery- read if you are thinking of fusion!
    There's the post I made.
