Andrea, Jeff is correct: no pt until after your next appt. w doctor in 6 weeks. These are pretty standard orders for Lumbar intervention. I also bought one of those relax the back, zero gravity chairs after my lumbar surgery. They are a great chair. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Cheers, Cindylou

Ok, So who ever the person was that wrote my pain was under control with advil yesterday, is definitely GONE today... LORD give me strength!

It was so cool walking after surgery and I could stand upright without having that "kink" that needed to work out for 2 minutes till I could stand upright.

I developed mid lumbar pain "aching" last night and it is relentless. As well as my hip and thigh pain? Anyone experience this as well? Any relief or suggestions would be appreciated! My incision pain is tolerable.

    Thanks

    Andrea

    Hi Andrea,

A few days after surgery, maybe two actually after the epidural came out, I had an achy pain start in my legs, mainly thighs. I believed it to be distraction pain and it went away after a couple of weeks. I took some Lyrica, very minimal amounts because it doesn't agree with me, and that helped a lot.

It didn't last long, and was much more bearable than the previous back pain. More of a 'pain in the butt' kind of pain, if you get my sick humour
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
