Default Newcomer that is quite confused on how this forum works

I have endured about 6 different back surgeries, which have included a couple laminectomies, an ALIF, and 3 fusions with instrumentation. My last surgery was last February which required all previous instrumentation having to be removed and replaced, along with another fusion. After surgery I required a blood transfusion and became contaminated with MRSA.I and I am now dealing with Si Joint Dysfunction which is almost has me bed ridden. My neurosurgeon wants me to try a pain pump or as a last resort do surgery which requires being on crutches for 6 months. I also am dealing with a pretty severe herniation in my neck at C5-C6. I hope I can get some support and answers here. Looking forward to meeting you all that can help. Thanks in advadvance. I must say I am confused as to how this works. Sincerely, Patty

Hi Patty,Welcome to the Spine Patient Society. You have been through quite a lot--I do hope you do better from here on out. How is your pain on a day-to-day basis? Your SI joint pain sounds like it is keeping you in quite a bit of pain. Since your surgeon recommended a pain pump, have you been able to read up about the procedure and what the pump has to offer? One of the Moderators here at SPS, Cindylou, had a spinal cord stimulator placed (which is different than a pain pump) and has had pretty good success with the device. Once again, welcome--we are glad you are here for support--there are many supportive Spine Patients here.
