Very interesting article Justin. Thank-you, as always, for providing these. I know way back when, Vioxx was my "go to drug" because it seemed that most of my pain issues stemmed from inflammation in my body. It was a miracle drug for me, as was Celebrex, when Vioxx fell from grace. Now, reading here about the increase in falls related to the upsurge of opiate meds since the fall of Vioxx, just makes one wonder: which is the lesser of two evils? Thanks, CL

Sure thing, CL. Vioxx was a great medication for me too. The study data that was used to pull it off the market was "interesting." Let's just say there are some over-the-counter meds with significant adverse reactions/events. Of course, the above is just my ...

Justin - You'll know a whole lot more about this than myself but I used to to take Vioxx from time to time before it was pulled from the market. I was discussing NSAID's with my specialist when I saw him recently as I'd been taking Meloxicam & it seemed to have stopped working. He gave me the impression that Vioxx was a very effective NSAID & was a risk for those patients who were in the "cardiovascular risk" category. It worked well for me & didn't give me any problems & didn't aggravate my IBS symptoms by making me bloated. I've tried it's successor - Arcoxia, but I can't tolerate it as it makes me incredibly bloated.
