Hi
Im currently waiting for adr on L4 & L5 and have been getting really really breathless. I have spoke to the consultant about this and he says its connected to levels of pain. The strange thing is im not in any pain when i suddenly become breathless. Does anybody else experience this??
Thanks

You are probably very tense if you are experiencing high pain levels. As long as a Dr says its nothing to worry about and you've been checked out (ie not asthma or chest infection) then I would just try and relax as much as possible.

I have various bouts of breathlessness. In my tests and full body CT scan, nothing shows up. I haven't really checked out my pain level when I'm having breathlessness so I'm not sure if it is connected. I do not have asthma, hay fever or lung diseases of any kind. Since I had a steroid/cortizone (whatever they are) shot a few weeks ago, I haven't had pain so I don't think it is related
Diagnosis:
Degenerative disc disease throughout spine
Generalized disc bulging with mild narrowing of thecal sac in L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1.
Moderate spinal stenosis L4-L5
Foraminal narrowing
Recent compression Fx at T10,T11.
Treatment:
Spinal decompression 2007
Cortisone injection in lower back in 2010
Relieved of pain for now
Hope for ADR
Hey Lois,
I get like that too especially at work when I am working myself to death. I stay stressed out and sometimes I feel like it could be mini panic attacks. I've never suffered from panic attacks but have been way more stressed than I ever have in my life. I am in pain most of the day and my job and the some of the people I work with are really getting to me. Today was bad. Do you have any idea when you are going to have your surgery?
