I suspect this can be true. Unfortunately, this research could lead to wrong conclusions for pain management within the medical industry.
Does opioids-induced hyperalgesia (OIH) refer to people becoming more sensitive to pain at all pain level thresholds, or could the sensitivity be more significant for lower pain level thresholds? That would make an excellent follow-up study.
I've noticed among myself that certain bumps that should have registered in the past at level 3-4 pain probably register with my brain as a level 4-5. However, once I have pain at level 7 or above, I believe it's from level 7 pain and not due to my body having a lower pain tolerance than prior to the Norco days. I am very open to believe otherwise, and would like to think I'm mistaken.
What are your thoughts?
-Dave
