Default Emergency room trip last night

I am not sure what is going on with my body but yesterday after having trouble eating much of my lunch, I began to experience real shortness of breath. Real sluggish, tightness around my chest, and shortness of breath. Scared me. Told my husband and he quick drove me to ER. I was also feeling some pressure behind my left knee. It was swollen fairly fat like a Bakers cyst. They ended up doing an EKG, Ultra sound/doppler on my leg, and a Cat Scan of my chest. My restlessleg syndrome really began to kick in too. They kept giving me ativan by IV, to calm me down, as I was extremely restless and agitated. I thought I was having another P.E. Nothing showing up which was great, but I am to expect a call from cardiology this week for an outpatient adenosine nuclear stress test. I also am to follow up with my primary care doc for further assessment. Today I am mostly extremely fatigued. Am going to lay down now for another nap as I am whipped. Thanks for listening.

    Oh CL,
You have been through the wringer. I sure hope that you are ok. I am glad that you are going to take it easy and do try hard to cut back on your activities for while until you are healed. I am sure you were pretty scared and I am glad you went the the ER right away. All my best to you.

CL, Very sorry to hear all you are going through. By any chance, did the doctor change your medicinal regimen after your last procedure?

    Hang in there!

No, no meds were changed. Still the 25 mg patch which I still have trouble keeping on. (Big problem.) And the break thru meds, Oxycodone, to last 2 weeks, like 1 a day, 2 tops. Just got appt. w/ my primary care so am gonna get ready for that. And they (from the ER) called a bit ago and scheduled me for the adenosine nuclear stress test, for tomorrow morning at 7:15 am. Hopefully, everything is ok. I just don't understand why my body is off kilter. Or, I should say, that is how it appears. Will keep you posted. Thanks guys.

Hugs,my dear. I wish there was more I could do or say to help.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Well, I had the stress test this morning and it was a 5 hour procedure. I have to say, all along I really thought it felt more like another pulmonary embolism, and that my heart was fine. But because in the ER they ruled out the PE, the ER doc ordered this other test since I was clutching my chest area. And late this afternoon, they called with the results, that sure enough...my heart checked out fine. Which leaves me to wonder why the sudden onset of such shortness of breath, but who knows? I feel a little bit like I cried wolf, which is embarrassing, but I called my other two pulmonary embolisms dead on. So, there you have it.

I do want to comment on my RF procedure last week, but I'll pull up the right thread and post it there.

Actually I have been there done something like that some time ago. Don't feel like a "cried wolf" its ok. Sometimes things come together plus the constant stress from pain and things can go over the top. I hope all will be ok.
