I went to see my family doctor yesterday to discuss my options re anti-inflammatory meds. I asked about Toradol & Prednisone but he said they both had significant risks & didn't think they were used that often in the UK but would have to be pursued via a Pain Clinic. With NSAID's I asked if he had something with the minimal gastro effects of Meloxicam but better pain relief. Meloxicam I can tolerate but the pain relieving effects are non existent for me now - he suggested Piroxicam. So in about a week when my GIT is bloat-free & totally calm I'll give them a go - I'm soooooooooooo keeping my fingers crossed. After that as a last resort he suggested Nabumetone. In the meantime I'm not pushing the walking too much so as not to inflame my back muscles - I don't want to go back to square 1 again with the walking yet again. Just taking Co-codamol for pain relief - that's 30mg Codeine/500mg Paracetamol - not sure what the US Tylenol is the UK equivalent of.
I'm sure about the Celebrex as it is a known side effect & I've had 2 sinus surgeries which hasn't left me 100% on that score.

I had been taking them after my last surgery in '09 to help build up my immunity but have not been taking them so much lately so that is an idea. I'll restart them at the full dose in preparation when I give these new NSAID's a try. Thanks. I wouldn't have thought of that.
