CindyLou
I can't take a muscle relaxer in the a.m. or anytime during the day unless I'm not planning on going anywhere for a few hours as it makes me too tired. I only take my pain med now and nothing else and have been able to work thru muscle spasms somehow much better than I used to tho there are sometimes I have to take something or I'll just be too knotted up for too long.
One thing I do take or get when spasms are too bad in neck or low back is 60mg injectable Toradol IM and it does not make me tired. Also seems to rapidly release me from knots/spasms and lessen amount of time my neck or back would be "out."
I was so very lethargic and nauseated and dopey for awhile until I stopped taking Neurontin altogether and fioricet on a regular basis (to prevent migraines or treat). Now I seem to have better energy levels and be better able to just relax enough to work my way out of spasms if I don't get myself into postural positions for extended periods of time that crreate further probs for me.
