    Default Tomorrow is hip surgery......

Well, my hip arthroscopy sure crept up fast. Actual surgery time is 3 pm, Tuesday, and I check in at 1:30 pm. Somewhat of a bummer on the no food and/or drink thing, so late in the day. But, it is what it is. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank-you again for all the well wishes. As it turns out, I was kept overnight due to pain management issues. Very grateful for an evening there. Then stayed all day yesterday. PT came for me in the morning, however, I got super dizzy trying to walk with crutches, so she told me to take a nap and she would come back for me in the afternoon. Amazing what even 30 more minutes of recovery time gave me. Was able to walk enough and demonstrate steadiness which was my criteria for being able to go home. I want to tell you all about the different things he did while he was in there, but am falling asleep, so will report back later.

Cindy, I"m sorry I am so late coming to this thread. I'm glad you got through it OK and am looking forward to chatting with you when you are up to it. Hang in there.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!
