Default Re: The Year in Review: BMP-2 Saga Prompts Change

I'm in the UK but I had an ALIF with BMP in 2005. It was recommended to me & at the time I went ahead with it because as a child I had a very poor track record of bone healing. At that time nobody warned me about any downsides/risks. Looking at information sites there are various different types of BMP but BMP 2 & BMP 7 seem to be the most predominant. Does anybody know if there is a clinical preference of the type used in fusions? I will check back with my surgeon which one was used on me but I'm sure I've seen a few people on here having had BMP used with their fusions more recently than 2005.
