Default Dr. Andrew Hecht at Mount Sinai Hospital anyone??

Does anyone on here know of or have any experience with Dr. Hecht at Mount Sinai Hospital? I came across his name in that Beckers Orthopaedic & Spine Review list of top spine surgeons in the US, and am considering having a posterior decompression surgery with him (still undecided though). I've read nothing but good things about him on other patient review sites, but just curious if anyone on here has any additional info.

    Thanks,
    Scott
Diagnosed 6 years ago (at age 30) with multi-level DDD of the C-spine
Have had numerous epidurals, nerve root injections, PT, etc.
Severe stenosis and cord compression at C5-6 and C6-7 -- also have herniations and stenosis at levels above
After much deliberation, decided to have a two-level fusion (5/6 and 6/7) on 1/25/11
Recovery has been rough so far, but trying to stay positive

I have heard he is very good and works with a neurosurgeon, so two docs work together in surgery.

Did you go ahead and use him? If so, how are you feeling?

Also heard Dr.Elowitz and Hartl in NYC are very good.

    Scott!

Did you decide on Dr. Hecht? I did not see him so, I can't comment there.
I did see the other Co-Director of Spine @ Mt Sinai for a short time. My cousin had a successful major op with him.. I was only under his care a short while.. I'll leave it at that!

Everyone is different~ Dr./Patient relationships vary and, more straight to the point.. whether or not they want you/your conditions as a patient. One way to find out is to go Or, my way..which wasn't that much fun

Through the help of this site and members , I found Dr. Bitan in NYC. I knew immediately, I wanted him and his team to do my surgery. But, he also wanted me as a patient! ...

    Good luck!
