Wha a journey you have had! I hate that it took so long to get the results of the discogram back.....maybe it was a good thing I wish the best to you andam glad you have time to prepare. Is your pain gong to allow you to wait?

I don't envisage changing much from how I am now whilst waiting. With limiting activities, pain meds and help I cope with the pain most of the time. There is no guarantee that the pain will improve post op anyway.

The surgery is being done on the NHS so unless you are an emergency you have to wait in line. My rods from the last fusion are holding ok so no rush is needed.

It was the prologue today, Geraint Thomas came in 5th which is really exciting as we have watched him come through the local velodrome and go on to turn pro. The tv must be getting sick of sport, two football matches in the world cup today and cycling as well.

    Allison,
I am so sorry that you have to have surgery again. Spine surgery really takes it out of you, so I understand why you wouldn't want it this year. I wish you all the best and hope that your recovery goes well.

AJJ - Sorry I didn't see your thread sooner. I didn't know you are need of more surgery. I'm very sorry to hear this. I know all to well how hard this is to prepare for both mentally and physically. It is good that the surgery can wait a bit so you can be completely read for the surgery. Revision surgery's are tough but I know with my neck some improvement is better than none. It all counts in the big picture. I hope you are doing well. I will keep you in my prayers and thoughts.

Allison, correct me if I am wrong here, but it is my understanding that your revision surgery will include fusing over your two lumbar Charite' discs. Is that correct? I will be watching you so closely with this. You and I have been through more than our fair share (if there is such a thing, ha) of failed surgeries, so I hold you near and dear to me hon. I know it's going to be soon, with the advent of 2011, and you have done an amazing job preparing yourself for yet, another surgery. You're in my thoughts and prayers indeed. May this surgery be your final ticket to a pain-free-ish life! Cindylou
