When I first read this I thought it was a typo & you meant ebay but have just googled it & realised. I never knew about etsy. That's a useful contact.

I really hope you hear something by the end of the working week - I'd have thought they'd have had a reasonable amount of time to send out the appropriate info etc.

Well the entire hospital staff seems to have been off for the past two weeks and I chased for a new op date today on their return .... nothing. Will be september at the earliest. my youngest has now returned home so i have no one to look after me full time after anyway. my wonderful other half is massively busy at work so he'll have to keep working and try to fit me in and hire some help to fill in the gaps. severely had enough, i want to be a bit better for christmas but thats not going to happen .... again.

Oh Alison, I am so sorry to hear that you are struggling so much, its no fun at all is it, and so difficult to cope without help even with a brilliant husband. Mines had to go back to work and the kids do what they can but they all have their own lives now ( youngest just finished uni and is frantically job searching). I got told off yesterday at physio for over doing it (4 and bit weeks post op) but it is so difficult not too. Surgeon threatening more work next year on L3 and L4 - but I think I shall try putting it off for a while. I hope you feel a little more positive soon. You have been an inspiration to me

thank you. my middle daughter came to visit last night and I feel a bit brighter. I feel so cut off from everyday life so it's nice to hear all her news, she lives right where the riots were in Manchester last week so had lots of tales to tell. got a few hours sleep last night so that has helped too.

Really hope it happens this time round. I've not had revision surgery but after both my anterior ops I've managed with minimal help. My elderly mother has cooked the evening meal & made me a sandwich for lunch but she hasn't helped me with anything else as she can just about manage her own things. I'm not saying it's been easy but I've managed without compromising myself. I suppose it's different with the no bending/twisting rules now etc. (Back in 2005 when I was fused I was told nothing will shift it so do whatever I thought was sensible).

I bet it was pretty frightening for your daughter if she lives in the middle of it all.

I tried to edit my previous post but it wouldn't save it for some reason??

I was just going to add - how are your ankles/feet doing at the moment? Is walking any easier?

they don't swell as much but I keep them up most of the time and don't walk much anymore. they just go in with my chronic leg pain and I try not to think about them. I must of done something last week and ended up with the whole back of my left knee numb. stupid legs.

Is there anything more that can be done to improve them. You'll need to do some walking after your spine op.

The specialist couldn't suggest anything else, I'll get in touch afterwards if there is any improvement in my legs and go from there. I'm going to have to get some really good waterproof dressings so i can go walking in the water.
