    Hello,
I am so glad to find a site with people who understand the pain that is involved. I admit I am no where near as bad as the people I have seen on here but I am glad to have a place to go and vent or whatnot.
Well, my story is this. When I was 16 my mom ran a red light and we were sideswiped by another vehicle. The result of that was my dads metal tool box, just a carry one, hit me on the right side. We went to the ER and I was fine then, however when we got home and went to bed I felt this excruciating pain and couldn't move my right leg at all. Back to the ER we went. Found out my right hip was completely out of socket. Very painful not recommended. lol Over the years I have just gone to a chiropracter when I had issues. Then the last couple years it went from once a month to once a week then twice a week then it would be out an hour after an appt. Finally went and let my fam doc know that I needed to get something done. She referred me to a pain mgt doc in town. That doc did the steroid/lidocaine shot in my SI. We thought it was my SI causing issues. That was owwweeeee. Didn't work Was actually in worse pain after that. She sent me to PT and did that for 3 months. No progress was noted. So I was sent to a spine specialist. He did just a novacaine shot in the SI. Didn't work. I was still in pain and if not more pain. My last appt the specialist did a novacaine shot in my L4, L5, S1 facet jts. I have arthritis going on in that area. Holy macaronis it hurt to get but once it kicked in I was feeling so marvelous I did way too much. YIKES! So I go back this week for another novacaine inj for diagnosis purposes. He has to do two positive inj before he can do the ablation.
I hope it works again because he said where I waited for sooo long to get things done there may not be much he can do. I will update after my appt Wed as to how it went.
Thank you for this website. It is awesome to read other peoples stories and know there are people out there who understand.

Was in a MVA 20 years ago. It knocked my hip out of socket completely.
08/10 Tried the steroid/lidocaine injection in the SI- made the pain worse.
08/10-10/10 PT twice a week and wasn't working (for SI jt)
    10/10- sent to spinal specialist
End of 10/10 Had novacaine inj in SI jt. Didn't work
11/2/10 First novacaine inj in the L4, L5, and S1 facets Wonderful results for 4 hrs. lol
11/17/10 2nd novacaine inj for diagnosis issues
Then will be scheduled for RNA

Welcome Spitfire. Glad you found us for all the right reasons. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't really matter if someone else's pain is better or worse than yours. Your pain is still yours to claim (who else wants it, right?) lol and it has affected you enough to find a spine support group such as ours to join. I hope we can be of comfort to you in your journey with solutions for your right hip. Keep us updated as we do care. Again, welcome. Great group of folks here. Cindylou

to the forum. I hope the injection and subsequent ablation work for you. All the appointments, injections, procedures and such are no fun, but it's so worth it when it all works and you are pain free. As Cindylou said, pain is pain, doesn't matter if it's a 10 or a 4, it's there all the time and wears you down.
    Best of Luck,
    Kathy

    Hi Spitfire

Welcome to the board! I'm sorry to hear about your struggling with such bad pain. I know first hand how it feels and I agree with Cindylou, pain is pain. It's not fun and not a way to live a life. I really hope you are able to get that last injection done so you can move forward with the ablation procedure. I wish you the best and hope to hear about your successful recovery!
