    Default Abdominal Discomfort/Pain

I had anterior/posterior fusion 4 1/2 months ago & I am still dealing with abdominal discomfort & pain above my incision site. I was wondering if anyone here can offer some insight on this.

When I mentioned it to the general surgeon's secretary back in April, she said that she would mention it to the surgeon & if he felt it was something to be worried about, he would see me when I went in for my follow up appointment with my OS. Well, I never did see the general surgeon at my appointment & all I am told is that it takes time for the pain to go away.

The thought crossed my mind that maybe it was adhesions. But I wonder why it is so painful if I bump my gut against something?

Has anyone else here experienced this? I know that each person heals differently, but I was curious how long this discomfort would last for.

Treatment: IDET, Percutaneous Discectomy, SI Joint Injection, Facet Block. All failed. Empire BC/BS Denied Coverage for ADR-lost all of my appeals. MVP also denied coverage.

    Kathy,

I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering from adhesions. This was a fear that I had & hoped that I could avoid. I can't help but to think that this is what I am dealing with.

I will check out your surgical blog & compare notes. I finally finished typing up a legal document so I have some time before heading off to bed

I will keep you in my thoughts & hope that your pain eases. Please keep me updated.

    K
