Speaking from experience it's soooo stressful going through all this. Since claiming incapacity I've had 2 medicals - the 1st one was a nightmare as the Dr put on his form I could do xyz when I said I couldn't. The 2nd one wasn't so bad as I was wiser from my 1st experience & to be honest the Dr was a lot nicer & even humane.

Looking at the DSS website it seems ESA may pay slightly less than incapacity, I wonder if that's why they're gradually changing everybody over.

From what you've said it sounds like you should get back the ESA but it's a nerve racking time waiting to find out.

When I was going through my appeal I found it hard to deal with the pain I had as well as deal with the DSS.

Good luck Let us know how it turns out.

not looking forward to this morning

... its my second physio session. I went out yesterday so am very achey and tired. I'm going to have grit everything to get up and dressed and there in time. I have only been able to do the exercises very gently once a day for the past few days after the initial pain flare up died down.

I think you did well to get there to be honest. At the moment I try to do activities on alternate days & on the in between days go out for a walk & pootle round the house. Hope your appointment went well.

I'm not as bad as I was last time. She did agree that she had been a little bit "rough" with me in the assessment (understatement or what!). On the good side she had done lots of research for ideas to do with me and we have agreed no rotation at all at the moment and this seems much more achievable. She had done lots of sheets with detailed instructions and as I had written down all that I had managed to do (very little!) since my last appointment she take me seriously when I told her how much I was hurting not that I was being lazy. I'm really hoping to have a better two weeks as not being able to swim is killing me. Its the only sport that was part of my triathlons that I have managed to continue and it feels like a part of me had died.

I think a lot of physios are quite rough with us spineys not having back probs themselves. I had physio the other week to sort out this muscle prob & he was doing an assessment & it felt like he was pressing really hard over my ADR region on my spine. I was frightened of the thing dislodging & said so at the time! He's quite easy going thank goodness & doesn't mind me having my say.

You should be getting your x-ray results soon so if they're favourable maybe you might be able to make a start on some gentle formal exercise. Hope you're aches & pains are starting to die down from Monday & Tuesday.

How did your physio go? Did she meet you half way & come up with some kind of workable plan to help you. Hope you're soreness/aching has calmed down & the physio hasn't flared it up again.

    Hang on in there.

Yes, curious how you're feeling Alison after this 2nd round of physio. Hopefully she was more gentle with you.

she could see straight away how much pain I was in so reigned it back alot. I'm managing to do some of the exercises whilst applying heat and we have dumped all the others!
