    Default Another emergency.....:(

Looks like I have to make a last minute flight to Dallas tomorrow morning. Wish hubby could come but....finances. My best friend from childhood, the one who had the kidney transplant last year, is not doing well at all. She is in the hospital at Baylor Univ in Dallas and her body has completely rejected the new kidney. She also has a mysterious infection the doctors cannot diagnose yet. I talked to one of her sisters from Illinois and her husband and it is not looking good. So I have to fly there and see her, no question about it. Both of her sisters are on a plane right now for Dallas. Please keep her in your prayers. She is just an angel of a person and I have known her since elementary school. Thank-you. CL

Thank-you all so much. It's been a rough few days,( make that weeks), for my bestfriend. I got home Tuesday in the wee hours of the morning. She went from recognizing me the first day, saying my name....commenting on my hair and my weight loss.....to being completely unlucid the next day. I don't think unlucid is even a word, but you know what I mean. Not lucid. She didn't know her name, her age, her husband's age or what year it was or who was President. Unreal. Then the rage started, severe agitation, and she had to be restrained from there on out. She kept trying to rip out her pick line. Most of the tests they did were inconclusive until they did the spinal tap yesterday. They are now almost 90% diagnosing her as having contracted HSV Encephalitis. Not good. Highly fatal in end stages and we lost 2 weeks just getting the diagnosis. The neurologist switched her to massive doses of a certain antibiotic, can't recall the name off hand, to treat it. I have been keeping in daily contact, more like multiple daily contact with one of her sisters and she said last night before bed they went in to ICU (she got moved there yesterday) to say goodnight and she recognized everyone again and talked coherently. Unbelieveable. But today no big changes. It is just a rollercoaster. I'm sure this is also contributing to me not being able to sleep, in addition to the effects of the SI Joint injection. I just can't stop praying and worrying about her. Maybe it's her time, I don't know, but I just don't want to let her go. I'm so sad. I'm not done loving her.
