A few years ago I backed out of a driveway into a parked car. The car had been there when I pulled in the driveway, I just wasn't paying attention- was answering a phone call and my kids were screaming that they didn't want to leave. I did the right thing and knocked on their door and gave them my insurance information. I later found out they were trying to claim more damage than what happened (saying the back was hit, when it was all driver's door). Luckily, I had my friend who's house I was leaving who saw it and spoke to insurance and verified my story.

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

I slid on ice several years ago in my 1965 Oldsmobile 98 and knocked on of it's mounts. No damage to the box though. The car was fine too. I think that model was named bad driver car of the year for 4 straight years.
