Default Dr. OZ...chronic pain show on today

I dont' often watch daytime tv, but have heard the ads for his show today. Since all of us suffer from this, I thought I'd give a heads up..it is coming on now.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

It was pretty non-spectacular He did focus on back pain, saying that it is the most debilitating health issue today. One audience member asked about sciatic pain and how to deal with it without medication. Oz suggested that exercise to build the core muscles would help, and to stay away from fusion because it affects the adjacent vertebrae. Minimal information really.

I wish he would devote a full segment to spine issues, and have written and suggested that, without response.

Agreed it's limited information altho more than the general population may be aware of. We are spine warriors so we expect alot...

I watched The Doctors one day when there was a panel discussion of back pain treatment and it was pretty good as I recall re info. Some that I wasn't aware of actually.

Then again I have stayed away from surgery now since 1992 (two levels two discectomies) and even tho I've been offered more surgery multiple times to date I'm very pleased that I didn't have more.

I have just spent the last 20 days straight being at a hospital or Rehab Center where my father is recovering from an abdominal surgery~ nearly 7 hours/day and I'm so thankful my spine has held up to date..

My feet on the other hand are killing me!!!
