Went to Home Depot and bought a bunch of paint and stuff to make some repairs around the house. My fan/light in my breakfast room is not working, so I'm gonna re-wire it. Then going to do a bunch of touch up painting, more like repainting (the joy of children who don't know how to walk down the hall without rubbing their dirty little hands along it as they go!) I also need to resurface a wall where I changed out a fixture and it was larger than the new one, so had covered the spot. I'm not going to do it all in one day, but feel better already knowing I won't have to look at it anymore (goes back to that patience thing). My husband always jokes that I will ask him to hang something and 5 minutes later he will hear, bam, bam, bam and will ask, what are you doing? Me: hanging this, Him: I told you I would do it, Me: I know, I waited and you didn't, so I did!

Thanks for all the encouragement you guys, don't know what I would do without you. Gil- Hope you have a better day too, doesn't sound fun at all.
Wow Kathy, you sound like quite the handyman.....or is it handywoman Thats so awesome that you are capable of doing all that stuff and dont have to rely on ole hubby to fix everything. Cant say I know a lot of women who are like that. So pat yourself on the back for that one I do hope you take your time with the repairs especially considering the kind of day you had yesterday. Have you been feeling better today??? I know I am And I'm especially happy I finally got a new phone after mine getting run over by a car on Sunday....and to make that situation worse I bought the OtterBox case (which when in use you can run your phone over with a car and it wont damage it) I had just switched batteries on my phone 5 minutes before it was left on my car so the case wasnt on it and couldnt protect it... So the case I bought to protect it from just this situation was taken off 5 minutes before the accident making it useless. And now the Blackberry work overnighted me is a different version so the 3 batteries and OtterBox case I have wont work for them Oh well though, I have a working phone again and thats the best part

    Kathy,
If you can do all that "on a bad day" what can you do on a good day? It's wonderful that you can do all that repair work and that you have the motivation to do it. I can't even get guys I hire to do that much.

    Greg,
Are you sure you don't want to go back to a line phone? At least you aren't likely to drop it in a lake or run over it with a car.

Greg- I like doing that kind of stuff, it's nice to look at something and know you made it/did it. I painted our entire house when we moved in it 3 years ago, every room. My husband helped some in the living room, the corners b/c it's 2 story tall and the ladder was so big that it was hard to reach the corners (picture me hanging on to the ladder with one arm and leaning and painting with the other ) When I was pregnant with my second, at my old house, I got the nesting bug in my 7th month and painted the entire house then (it was only 1,500 sq ft. though). I like how paint can transform a room. I'm on a first name basis with the Home Depot paint department I even bought myself my own power drill an tools, so when my husband had his, I could still use mine (I love power tools, they are fun!) My husband won't let me use the tile saw (coordination is not my strong suit), but a few years ago I helped my brother in law tile and he let me run it, it was the coolest and I still have 10 digits.

I won't be doing all this in a day, probably not all in a week, but just want to get started on it. Hubby just tiled the bathroom (for some reason the builder had carpet in there), so I want to touch up the paint and repaint the molding so it looks all new. I threatened today to start putting some of the molding that we had to remove back on and re caulk the tub if he didn't (hopefully that will get him motivated, I'm not good at caulking and he knows that )

I feel better today, still not as good as I have, but better. Yesterday I just laid around and read a book, so wanted to get moving today. I know my bad days now, are what I used to call a good day, so it's not unbearable, I'm just over it. A lot worse things could happen though, so I need to just be grateful for what I have and where I am.

Hi Kathy. I'm sorry that you are currently in a painful spot. However, I am glad that you are feeling better today. You should treat yourself to a massage.

Not matter how far you have come post-op, it's difficult when you have bad days. Keep your head up and take things a day at a time...this too shall pass.
