    Default Happy Anniversary Terry!

Today is Terry's third anniversary of a four level ADR surgery!

I remember reading about his adventure over a year ago, and feeling relieved that there were more people out there than just me that needed that many discs. Terry, you gave me the strength to carry on, to believe that it was achievable.

While I'm still waiting, I have never forgotten your words of encouragement and bravery after going through that giant procedure.

I know you mentioned this in passing yesterday in another thread, but I thought it was worthy of a thread of its own

Take care, young man, and thanks for being such a wonderful example for the rest of us.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

    Terry,

I hope you get to enjoy your hardware for many more years to come.

You have inspired me for the last 2 years with your selflessness and I hope I can do the same for others some day.

It is an honor to call you a friend.

I am humbled by the sentiments expressed here. Thanks all. I believe we are all in this together and that God has given me a few gifts to share with others. At the end of life I may not have much but I hope I gave it all away.

I am doing well and can't complain after all I went through. Stenum did right by me.

Thanks again all; I am blushing.

Happy third anniversary Terry! If you think you're blushing now, I understand they're bronzing your surgical temporary Speedos for your fifth anniversary.

Seriously though, you have been a tremendous help and inspiration to all of us. Your attitude and selflessness are a comfort to many.

Yay Terry! That is awesome and you have been such a help to me and many others! I remember coming on the forums and feeling like I would never understand all the lingo or the surgery. I was scared and didn't know what to do. You helped me learn so much, answered many of my questions and pushed me to research, research and research and to not give up. Thank you for all the help and congrats!
