CL- The paperwork is the biggest pain in the rear. They sent me the same stuff over and over to fill out. Then it would have like a week deadline to get it back. I suggest making photocopies of everything you fill out, that way when they 'lose it' or send you another one to fill out, you can just send the copy in.Very hopeful news Kathy. I am pulling for you all the way. I tried about 6-8 months ago to get disability, and was shot down from the get go....mainly because of lack of documentation. I had sent in part of the paperwork, and was working on the rest, when out of the blue, she sent me a letter saying I didn't complete the paperwork, so "no." Geesh. I was in too much pain to fight it out. I may try again when I have more fight in me.
I was going through all my appeals when I was also doing all my lawsuit stuff (depositions, interrogatories, mediation, etc.) It was a pain, that's why I hired an attorney (most do not charge, they only get paid if you win. They get 25% of your 'settlement' (this is the max by law they can take), which is all the back payments you get (from the date you became disabled to now). They get nothing out of your future payments. I would highly suggest getting an attorney, you have nothing to lose.

31 years old- 1/06- In wreck with 18 wheeler at 25 years old; 6/06- Head on collision on Interstate, both wrecks other drivers fault. Numerous MRI's, PT, chiropractic, acupuncture, TENS therapy, massage therapy, facet injections, epidural injections, Nerve study, Discogram, confirms pain in L4/5, IDET, decompression, Bi-lateral neurotomy L3/4/5, denied by insurance twice, in Active L clinical trial, had surgery March 17, 2009 in Miami, FL- received Active L disc at 29 years old. Pain and medication free as of October 2010!Mommy to Emma- 8 years, Ava- 6 years & had baby Eli after ADR, via c-section on March 25, 2011, completely pain free still!

I should be in my 4th year (my last) right now, but I had to take some time off for my surgery in May.

Thank you Kathy. They probably do the deadlines to weed out a bunch of folks like me who just don't have the fight in them. Maybe I will consider a lawyer if it is set up like you say. Thanks for the tip.
