    Hey Moni!!!

It is sooo good to hear from you

Is it springtime out there yet, or are you still stepping over the last of the snowdrifts? The tulips are sprouting up and the crocus are already blooming and almost past...they were early this year...of course, while we were down south

It is going to be a heck of a healing ride, I think, but very welcome considering the alternative. Another sign of spring...I'm headed out for my first visit with my new grand daughter

I've been thinking of you...what's new out your way?

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

I just wanted to let you all know a big secret.....she is Perfect !!!!!

Oh my heavens she is gorgeous! Even if I wasn't related...no, really! This is the best dose of medicine I could have possibly had. Since she is relatively small at five pounds, fourteen ounces, she is down right petite compared to her mom who weighed in at eight pounds, one ounce. Not to mention her sister at nine pounds (Yes, it really did feel like that!)

I haven't downloaded any pictures off my camera yet, and haven't asked permission to post her picture on the internet (but I might just do a sketch tonight that I could then post...... )

But she doesn't have the double chin, just a little elf-like face, lots of dark hair and is just so ....serene. So I might just be rethinking this new (to me)way of sending moms and babies home right after delivery. In this case, they were kept in for twenty-four hours because she was just below the proper weight for her age, two ounces because she was now a full thirty-eight weeks instead of thirty-seven and five days....rules.....all of this is just rambling because I don't want to sound like a gushy grandma

All of this is just to say in my day, the babies were stuffed in nurseries with at least a dozen screaming babies under full lights, always awake whether they wanted to be or not, but Caitlyn is almost constantly sleeping peacefully in her mom's arms, both of them happy and quiet. Much happier than I remember being at that stage.

So Moni, in response to your post, I really really have come a long way And to everyone else, thanks so much for giving me an opening to gush without too much embarrassment

    Hey Katie-112.jpg

Sorry guys, I have always been able to make the size of the pictures much bigger with the Webshots program, but I can't seem to find the control for it right now...I'll try again in the morning.

Ha, I think I have it!

Oh, she is precious Katie........it's making me think back to Tully and how fast her first year went. I am so happy for you and your daughter's family. Children are a gift from above. Enjoy. She's got a nice little mop of hair too!
