    Default I am so bummed.....

I have my pre-op physical today, however, this morning I woke up with pink eye. I have had a slight tickle and some uncomfortable soreness in my throat, but I wasn't too concered about that, UNTIL I woke up this morning with the stupid pink eye. Now I am worried my surgery will have to be rescheduled and my hip doc is montbs and months out. I do not want to do this in the middle of the summer, that's for sure. I wonder if the antibiotic drops can cure it in time. My surgery is in 6 days. Totally bummed.

    CL,

Once you know you have "Pink Eye", the contagious stage is almost over. With antibiotic eye drops, you should be OK before your surgery. It should not have an effect either way.

    Good luck.

I have found almost all symptoms to have gone within 2 days of antibiotic treatment, its probably not helped as you are run down from all your running around moving. Hope it clears up soon.

Well, my new internist did not want to give me antibiotic drops for my pink eye because she said it is the viral type, not bacterial pink eye. Never knew there was a difference! I have always, in the past, been given eye drops for this type of infection, and it has cleared up lickety split.....hope it clears up on it's own, fast enough now! Thanks for the positive vibes you guys. I need 'em, and I sure hope this clears up asap.

Sheesh, I didn't know there were two kinds either...thanks for the education, and fingers crossed that this will clear up quickly as well. Hang in there...you just have too much on your plate!

I finally went to urgent care yesterday as the pink eye was just not getting better...almost seemed like it was getting worse. The doc there prescribed the eyedrops and it feels better already, thanks to the drops. Go figure.

    My dear Cindylou,
I am so glad you decided to go to another doctor. This is what you have needed. I am sure it will also lift your spirits.
You will get better much faster with some medication. Good luck to you. Carmen
