What morons! Be sure to send your latest MRI, with the date, which will show absolutely NO hardware in your spine.
This is a discussion on The incompetency of the Insurance system is astounding.... within the Spine Patient Support: Body, Mind & Spirit forums, part of the Social and Support Forums category; I just have to share....... I got a courier package from the Gov't insurance late yesterday and I opened it ...
I just have to share.......
I got a courier package from the Gov't insurance late yesterday and I opened it while having my coffee this morning, so not to ruin my sleep. It says that since I already had my surgery in NYC on July 13, they are refusing to agree to the request for an expedited hearing I have in to the Appeal Board for that very surgery.
Really, I've had surgery? They've screwed up and confused my consult with another doctor with major surgery in NYC. Wow, I wonder how much that consult cost??!!
I'm going to have my dear husband take a date stamped photo of my naked back and ship it off to the Appeal Board...no scars, no incision, no surgery. Now how about that meeting!?
The only bad thing is that Monday is a holiday up here, so I can't share this news with them until Tuesday.
The more they talk and write and show their incompetence, the better my Appeal case looks![]()

Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things. Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Great idea Kathy! I had one done four days after my supposed 'surgery'Moronic is a good description, thanks!
But you don't think that a pin-up of my bod would be a good way to start their day?I want to be there when they open the envelope though...if they can find one big enough...I'll make a 'big' impression
Hubby is totally angry and frustrated...me, I think it is hilarious! It will make a really good impression on the Appeal Board members...one more screw-up on the part of the Insurance.

Disclosure: I have no financial relationships with any surgeons, spine clinics, device manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, etc. -- the SPS Board of Directors serve without compensation.
I know! They obviously have my file tagged for billing or something, but what in heaven's name makes them think that a local follow-up visit for my scope has anything to do with an out of province surgery? Or else they have me mistaken for someone else in the billing department?
No matter, it just goes to show their incompetence, and helps discredit all their lies and half-truths they are trying to use in their case against me. Time to get all the paper work in order for the appeal and slay them good and proper![]()
