We can be on a date, driving through one of his properties and I kid you not if he sees a piece of litter will pull the car over and pick it up right then and there. He loves it and that's definitely a plus when you enjoy your work.
I think I would get along with Joe just fine. I absolutely love mowing the lawn and anytime I drive by a nice yard, I think "wow, that would be a great place to mow." My wife always gives me a hard time because she knows how much I love that stuff. We don't have any grass, but I'm always trying to justify the need for a ride-on lawn mower.

LOL... I once offered to mow for him when he was sick and you would have thought I was asking to amputate his leg without drugs. No one is allowed to mow our yard; but him- which is fine by me. It's pretty funny because people will ask me about all the flowers/plants thinking I'm the gardener (which I have zero knowledge of). I used to try and pick stuff for outside, but gave up long ago.... I get inside for whatever I want and he gets outside.

Thanks CL, hubby took that on our little 'staycation' last week at the Great Wolf Lodge.

Kathy, did you go to the one located right there in Grapevine TX? I bet the girls had a ball. I didn't realize there were quite a handful of them located throughout the US. I was aware of the one in Wisconsin Dells, that's all. We've driven past it when we went to Madison last fall for our son's Iron Man competition. I thought, when we drove by, oh, that would be fun to take Tully there for a weekend. Always got that little girl on my mind. CL

We did go to the Grapevine one. It was a lot of fun, girls had a blast. Kids loved the water park and Ava was just barely tall enough to do the big slides with Joe. It's funny how my short child is the one who wants to do all the crazy slides and amusement park rides and the other one, who is extremely tall for her age and can go on anything, has to be coerced (once she does it she likes it, but it definitely takes some pushing to get her to do new things). It 'snowed' in the lobby area 3 times a day and they had a neat story time. The rooms were neat, the kid area was like a mock log cabin and had bunk beds, which the girls thought were wonderful. My only complaint was that the beds were awful, hubby and I woke up with our entire bodies aching. You would think that for the price they charge, you would get a decent bed (we went with a discount and it was $300 a night).

Here's the kids' area, was really cute:

That is so cute. Did you complain about the mattress? You probably should have while you were wrapping up your final bill at check out. They need to know that kind of stuff, you know? Because if enough customers complain about it, it could just make a difference. There's just no excuse for the dollar amount you are spending at a place like that, to not have a really nice mattress. What, do they think you are going to be so tired from splashing and playing with your kids in the water park all day that you aren't going to notice when you finally hit the sack if your mattress is lumpy or not?! That's nuts. CL

I filled out the survey they emailed me and let them know the mattress sucked. Everyone I have since talked to, that has been there, said the same thing. I did have a nice conversation at 5 something in the morning with a fellow lodger who also couldn't sleep in the uncomfy beds.
