Default OMG...what IS my neighbor doing?!

The neighbor behind me in the alley has had a pick-up truck parked all day in the driveway with some sort of loud generator sounding noise going non-stop, in the bed of the pick-up. I have no idea what he is doing over there and why that damn thing has to be on, non-stop, all day, but the other annoying thing this thing is doing is, it is somehow tripping the "alarm system" we have set up in our garage, to sound off upstairs in our bedroom, after all the stupid tire slashing nonsense. So literally, every 5 seconds, I am listening to an alarm going off in my house, every 5 seconds, an alarm sounding, all day, because of this dude neighbor in the alley! It's driving me absolutely loony!! CL

our neighbours have been renovating the house since last July, since I'm stuck in alot of the time I get disturbed with engines, skips, music, shouting, breaking up concrete, driving me mad especially as they must have spent ฃ50,000 + on a house that is only worth ฃ190,000 max. madness.

Haha... My neighbors aren't noisy, just annoying. The guy seriously mows every time one of the houses on either side of him does. For funnies, my hubby mowed one day after that guy did, so that guy mowed again, the next day our other neighbor (on the other side of the weird neighbor) mowed, the guy mowed again (3rd day in a row) and so hubby mowed again the next day, the guy stayed in..... figure his wife threatened to divorce him if he mowed 4 days in a row. LOL It's like a golf green, he cuts it way short, with a reel mower. I really don't think you are allowed to walk on it, not even his kids. No joke watched him 'aerate' his yard with shoes that had long spikes in them. My hubby loves the yard stuff and works out there a lot; but this guy is just over the top. It's pretty funny to watch though.

I don't think I've ever really had any bad neighbours. So you know what that makes me... the bad neighbour!

Well there was that old bloke who got me about 5 tenancy breach notices over my dog and tried to get the pound after her. The arse. Mind you they're about to be hit by a Category 5 cyclone in say, 8 hours, so.. guess it all works out in the end?

That is just bizarre Kathy.. a patch of grass..

LOL, I was mortified and hugely upset when I got neighbours !! We were almost the only house on the dead end road when we moved here five years ago, and that's why we bought the property. Well, someone had the nerve to buy the acreage across the street and build....nice home and really nice neighbours, but still...the nerve! Now we have a family to the left of us too. Again, very nice, so we are very lucky that way. Thankfully we can't see the house because of the woods....

Can you tell I'm a bit of a hermit ;-)

CL, I would send the noise bylaw officers to see that fellow. I can't understand why he would need a generator unless he didn't pay his electric bill;-)

And hooch...so true...just a piece of grass....some people don't have enough of a life. Should send them to the cancer ward at a children's hospital or something.

OK, back to my coffee and watching the snow blow by ;-)

CL, what would be the odds of someone doing damage to the vehicle during the day? Could you safely turn off the alarm system while the idjit next door has the generator going? There is a curfew on how much noise you can make after a certain hour, at least here. He would have to turn it off at night, hopefully?

I would be very steamed as well. Hang in there! Or go to the cabin??

Well, at the end of the day the pick-up left with the generator, thank goodness. If he had showed back up the next day, yesterday, I was going to have to go over there and say something. Honestly, it was just unnerving and I wasn't feeling well all day, so was in my pajamas all day....just could not for the love of pete, find 1 quiet place in the whole house to lay down, and get away from that insidious noise! But alas, much better now. CL

Now, this is funny! I've had neighbors like this. When I was in high school and part of college, I had a lawn mowing business with a friend. We really took pride in the work we did and we had a couple of neighbors next to our clients that would "compete" with us. It was quite amusing.

How funny. My husband does lawn and tree service for a living, he started doing it to put himself through college. He earned his degree and decided he liked doing it and didn't want an office job and has been doing it ever since. I like to harass him about how much heart he puts in it. We can be on a date, driving through one of his properties and I kid you not if he sees a piece of litter will pull the car over and pick it up right then and there. He loves it and that's definitely a plus when you enjoy your work.

Kathy, first of all....LOVE the new profile pic!

Okay, now down to business.....lmfao!!!!! That is the absolute funniest thing I have ever heard about a lawn and keeping up with the Jones'. The wife probably was the only one with any sense who had to convince her husband that Joe "was playing him." haha.....that is just hilarious! And also how great for Joe to do what he loves, and love what he does. I think the same with Justin and him waking up every morning and doing what he loves. CL
