Blush Puffy eyes? (A very superficial question)

Amidst everyone's pain and real problems, I'm almost blushing as I type this, but it's something I've been struggling with for a while, so here goes...

Have any of you experienced dark, puffy circles/bags under your eyes as a side effect to the opiates? Looking in the mirror I see an uncanny resemblance to the homeless lady down the street. I think she's on opiates too...

Even more superficial: Do you have any advice on how to get rid of them?

    Linn,

Try this or a similar product. Both my wife and I use it and it really works great.

    Thanks Dave!

I looked at the website, it sounds very interesting. With international shipping fees it just didn't fit my current budget, but I think I'll try it out next time I'm in the US.

I did follow your advice and invested in an eye cream though. Hopefully that will do the trick

if not invest in a YSL "touche eclat" or budget version of it. Works wonders if you are trying to look human.

Tea bags (used ones, squeezed and cool) placed on the eyes for ten to fifteen minutes often help reduce swelling. Perhaps google for more 'home remedies' like that.
Severe compression of spinal cord, flaval ligament, etc. at C4/5 & 5/6.
Herniation and compression, at L3/4 to L5/S1 plus spondylosis at the latter level. Severe allergy to most metals.
Three level surgery in Brazil with Dr. Luiz Pimenta on March 17/2010 using non-metal appliances. L5/S1-PEEK cage, ALIF; L4/5-PEEK cage, XLIF; C5/6-NuVasive NeoDisc. Three separate approaches, two minimally invasive. Currently minor residual back pain, from SI ligament and still overdoing things . Therapy and chiropractic treatments helping immensely. Gone from being almost bedridden to near normal activities including gardening. Life is gooooood!

Thanks Katie! That's what I used to do back when I had purses instead of saddle bags under my eyes Especially chamomile tea works. Since I can't lay on my back it's a little bit too strenuous to get them to stick now though.

I wouldn't leave home without it! (I use a budget version, and it really does disguise the dark blue areas). On Wednesday, though, I had to go without make-up to the MRI, and going to the cosmetic shop straight afterwards the make-up artist could really see the ugly truth under my eyes.

Apart from the cream I bought, I went away with instructions on how to apply it for best drainage. Apparently I've been doing it wrong all along, applying cream to the bag itself, which actually makes them swell even more. Instead I'm now rubbing the top of the cheek bone (to stimulate the lymph node??), anyway, it seems to be helping

Just a question, how are you sleeping?

Sleep? Never and always That is, my last full night of good sleep was probably September some time, and some days, like today, I drift in and out of an oxycontin haze/sleep all day. It also seems like the pain itself makes me tired, so even if I don't up my dose, I nap much more on the painful days.

    Does that effect the puffiness?
