Default Surgery Decision (Dr. Guyer, Texas Back Institute, Lumbar Hybrid Operation)

Well folks after talking to only about 11 doctors, I have finally decided to let TBI and Dr. Guyer work on me. He is going to do a 360 cage on both my bottom L5-S1 and L5-L4 and than ADR on the level above. My facets are just wore out on the bottom level. I saw them, and during my previous laminectomy the Dr. broke off a piece of facet on the bottom level. I was thinking of going to Dr. B, he wants to do a ADR sandwich, with a fusion in the middle. I honestly think he is overstated his ability. I have looked at the bottom level facets and they are ALMOST completely worn. I like the idea of having local people to do my physical therapy and follow ups. Dr. Guyer has won numerous awards as well as Most compassionate surgeon in America award. Dont have a date yet, insurance, more tests, etc. Chime in please!
This is my way of staying in touch with all of you

Well, jaybike, I think you have made a fine decision. TBI has a stellar reputation, as well as Dr. Guyer. I think you are in great hands. This is such a huge part of the battle....getting to this decision, that you should feel somewhat of a load off your shoulders. Hopefully. I know I did. Just keep us posted when you get your date, time, etc., for your big day. Thanks for informing us! Cindylou

Dr. Guyer is a great choice! He's such a great surgeon and his awards show that he's an all-around great guy too (note: his recent Compassionate Doctor Award).

    You are in great hands!

Please keep us posted when you get a date and, of course, when you have surgery.

BTW: I personally saw Dr. Guyer in 2003 while I was working up my spine issues and my Father saw him in 2009 for his spine.
