Like arthritis in the spine? My understanding is that degenerative disc disease, also encompasses arthritis in the spine. I know my stiffness that I wake with is this, as it gets better as I move around. You can get a prescription for arthritis, though I've never taken one. I also think it's just one of the evils of aging (not that we are old, but we have injuries which accelerate arthritis). I may be wrong on this, but if you feel like that is causing you more pain, talk with your doctor, because they can help. I also think the prescriptions they use for arthritis are non narcotic.

I replied to a thread with some of this info in another place but it never submitted it. Maybe I took too long. I know part of my problem is arthritis and one of the best medications is Celebrex. It is a prescription and an NSAID but is not as hard on your stomach as the others(aspirin, ibupropen, etc). My insurance quit covering Celebrex so I have been forced to take a substitute which is Nabumetane. The problem is that Celebrex you take only 1 every 24 hours while you have to take Nabumetane once every 12 hours. All the NSAIDs are good for getting rid of inflammation which is what arthritis does to your body but some hurt your stomach more. Both Celebrex and Nabumetane are prescription drugs but non-narcotic.
    Diagnosis:
    Degenerative disc disease throughout spine
Generalized disc bulging with mild narrowing of thecal sac in L2-L3, L3-L4, L4-L5, L5-S1.
    Moderate spinal stenosis L4-L5
    Foraminal narrowing
    Recent compression Fx at T10,T11.
    Treatment:
    Spinal decompression 2007
Cortisone injection in lower back in 2010
    Relieved of pain for now
    Hope for ADR
