Default Help with understanding new pain

Anyone with lumbar DDD have pain that can only be described like someone is taking a pair of scissors and cutting you square in the disc area????

I'm concerned simply because this is a new sensation that I have not had. My normal pain is more "radiculopathic" (pins and needles in right leg, toes, etc) with normal deep rooted pain in the lower back.

The burning that I have in my left leg seems to be concentrated entirely in the left butt check down into the hamstring area (all on the left). So now, I have the pins and needles on the right, with the burning sensation on the left.....Should I be concerned with a new problem??????

I would definitely bring it up with your doctor. My pain felt like sandpaper going up and down my spine, with burning; but I never had leg, hip or butt pain.

Unfortunately, with spine issues there is a varied spectrum of pain and symptoms. I would venture to say that this "new" pain is related to your pre-existing spine issues. Unless you are having gross neurological deficits and/or loss of bowel/bladder, I would chalk this up to a "flare up" with a new sensation of pain.

    Hang in there!
