    tingling in hands ?

    Hello All

A brief update I just my L4-L5 last week it is HUGE I also have drop foot with all the pain.

I started a dose pack and in the mean time I began to have tingling in both hands, If i lay on my back and cross my arms across my chest it gets worse.
When my arms are by my side it goes away almost.

I hope this is from the meds and not my C Spine starting to give me problems.

    Thanks

I also get numb hands and it is painful, feels like the bone is aching. I have had C-spine MRI's and they found nothing. I also had nerve testing and all they found is almost carpal tunnel syndrome. Lyrica has helped alot. I also have arm braces that I wear when it flares up and they really help.

    Gil,

One thing my doc told me that was DDD is progressive. Now I do not know if that is true or not, but your cervical could be getting worse. One of the signs is tingling and numbness in the arms, hands and fingers. The best way to find out is another MRI and EMG.

Not to be an alarmist, just proactive.

Nerve Root, Facet Injections and Epidural every 3 months. Ongoing treatment for continued degeneration.

    Gil,

Have you expressed these "new" symptoms with your treating physicians? From your post, it seems as if these symptoms started after you started on dose pack. Is this correct?

Paresthesias (pins and needles) are a possible side effect of treatment with a methylprednisolone dose pack.

As always, be sure to follow-up with your treating physicians.

    Hang in there, Gil.
