Default Activ-L Artificial Disc Replacement L4-L5

    Hi everyone,
My name is Caroline and I have an ADR at L4/L5 which seems to be a success. I had my surgery June 25th last year and was so relieved as I had previously had two failed endoscopic procedures to remove the hernia. After an awful lot of very sinful tests it was determined that I had a degenerated black disc and that the disc itself was causing my pain not just the nerve. I still take Lyrica and Muscodal to control my pain and nerve damage, but am doing pretty well. I welcome all of you to share your experiences with me.
    Kind regards)

Well I think I can speak for everyone (but I'm sure they'll chime in too) when I say to the SPS. That is so AWESOME that the ADR has fixed the issue the riddled you for so long. If you go to the Surgical Outcome Forum

    Surgical Outcomes

you will find a lot of posts about people who have had surgeries and their stories. KBear just started a new thread that I think you are a perfect candidate to post on. This thread is about answering a bunch of question to tae a survey on peoples experience with surgery, pain, recovery, etc. This way we'll have a bunch of info in one spot for people looking at having surgery can go to and see what recovery was like for everyone else (especially ones having the same procedure they want). It would be really awesome if you could share your success story on that post.

Here is a link to the thread taking a survey on recovery from surgery if you have time to pass on your experience to help others.

How long did it take you to heal from surgery?

Again, CONGRATULATIONS on having a successful operation and thank you for taking the time to come to us and share your story. I see many people on here all the time when their in pain and trying to get fixed, get the surgery, heal up and then never see them again. I uess there too busy living a normal life so for you to take the time and boost the confidence of others seeking a surgery like you is a very nice thing and we are so glad to have you here.

And I guess I'm a couple days late but HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO YOUR NEW DISC AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO YOU! You deserve it. What is your pain like now?

Caroline, I suppose you are Dr. Zeegers's patient?

I am very glad to hear about your success.

Thanks Alison! Happy to find a group like this. To Keano, yes I am a patient of Dr. Zeegers. I had the surgery in the Beta Klinik in Bonn, a beautiful place, just a pity I wasn't able to fully enjoy it. I will go back someday to see the place seeing as I credit my German part now as part of me

Hey KBear, I have an ADR support group on facebook under my name Caroline Oversier Robinson. There are a few of us who chat occasionally but this is more of a sounding board I think. I do have the Activ L, just had it's one year anniversary. Silly how sentimental I actually gone thinking just how far I have come in the last year

Ok, I had someone who found me on Facebook off a post I had made on Dr. Zeegers thread (I did not have surgery with him) and her name is Carol and she also has an Active L at L4/5. I'm sentimental about it too, I started crying telling my OBGYN about what all I had been through and how grateful I am to be here now.
